Day 2
Thanks for all the support everybody! I REALLY appreciate it! I find that I am the most determined right before I go to bed. I tell myself that "tomorrow is going to be an EASY day." I'll eat right, exercise right, etc. Then I wake up the next morning and find myself being tempted right away. I baked cookies this weekend and so instead of helping myself to one I just finished dumping them in the garbage. Wasteful? Maybe, but I'd rather be wasteful than waist-full. Point 1 for me, cookies 0. So now I'm going to find something for breakfast. I'm supposed to be trying no sugar, no dairy, no processed foods. So cereal and milk are out. Smoothie it is. Day 2 is off to a good start!

Taryn,
ReplyDeletePlease check out the cookbook "Cook Yourself Thin". You can find it at Chapters for $24 and it has like 200 recipes. It's all food we all eat but without all the added calories and fat. AMAZING food and so good. Serious, totally worth the investment. I almost cried reading this because I know you can do this and I am so happy to see this courage come out of you!!! I'm here for any questions and support!!!
Hey Mamabird!
ReplyDeleteIm cheering you on! I know how hard and tempting treats are, I threw out chips the other day ;)
I can give u tips for alternatives to dairy - blue diamond almond breeze " milk" is to die for. Try gardein meat alternatives. Meat is high in fat and nasty.:) meat alternatives are high in protein and low in fat so with you running, give you lots of needed energy.
Quinoa is a great alternative to pasta or add to salads or can even be a porridge.
Check out gluten free /allergy webpages, there will be good recipes that are healthy.
I wish you the best and Maybe we can get together for a run, even though that's not my fav activity.
Xo

Just so you know.. next time you need to dump cookies, dump them in my house :) I don't have to worry about not eating them 'til this baby comes out..haha GOOD job on the breakfast though! Woo woo.
ReplyDeleteYou are so awesome! I was just at the gym tonight and the instructor at my class was talking about how we have to change the way we eat if we want to lose weight. I guess that is my problem. I exercise all of the time, but I eat horribly...hence no weight loss! I am here with ya sister. I need to make some big changes in my life too. I am so excited you signed up for a race. That is definitely a way to get motivated. I love you a lot!
